Nigeria has confirmed 155 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Monday even as the number of persons who have recovered from the pandemic in the country surpass 43,000. 

While disclosing the latest COVID-19 data, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the new cases take the number of infections in the West African nation to 55,160.

The new cases, the NCDC data showed, were reported from Fifteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Nigeria’s commercial centre and one of the pandemic hotbed, Lagos, had the highest number of infections from the disease – 42 – for the day and is trailed by Plateau – 25,  Rivers – 16 and Ebonyi – 10.

Nine new persons were infected with the disease in Abia State, Ogun-9, FCT-9, Osun-7, Katsina-6, Kaduna-6, Ekiti-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Anambra-2, Akwa Ibom-2, Kano-1

While 1,061 persons have died from COVID-19 complications, 43,231 cases have been treated and discharged.
