The fund seeks to help pay the bonds of people arrested across America during the Black Lives Matter protests in response to George Floyd’s death.

The Weeknd and the likes of others also donated $100 000 to the National Bail Out fund  The violent protests were triggered by the death of George Floyd.

an African American who died in hospital after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes. Drake donated to the National Bail Out fund on Monday. 

The Canadian rapper shared a receipt for his $100 000 donation to the fund in his Instagram stories with his 67 million followers after fellow songwriter 

The National Bail Out fund describes itself as a “Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organisers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration”.
