The chairman of the House of Reps committee on NDDC has said that the IMC of the commission is blackmailing NASS members 

the statement was based on a reaction to an allegation that he removed a project from the commission’s 2019 budget and replaced it.

The committee chairman has challenged the commission to show proof of their claim.

In a report by The Nation, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker said it is to distract attention from the realities within the commission.

Tunji-Ojo has challenged the IMC to show evidence to back up their claims instead of just making allegations. He said: “I am not going to exchange words with him because, like Comrade Oshiomhole said, you don’t wrestle with pigs.

Meanwhile, reports from legit.ng proves that investigations into an allegation of diversion of public funds have begun against the minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, and Professor Daniel Pondei of the NDDC. 

The probe is being carried out by the Economic and Finacial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Akpabio and the acting managing director of the NDDC who have both been accused of diverting the sum of N40 billion.

The probe began after the Foundation for True Freedom and Good Governance sent a petition against the duo to the anti-graft agency. In other news, the management of the NDDC has denied fresh corruption allegations levelled against it, saying they were attempts “to heat up the polity.
