According to scientist, the human body is made up or composed of more than 50% of water. With this it means that the human body cannot function properly or effectively without water. Dehydration can cause short down of the body system and at the same time lead to death of humans.


The human body cannot do without water. Likewise other living things such as plants and animals. The human blood is composed of about more than 80% of water as well because the plasma makes up of 90% of water and the rest is proteins molecules including enzymes and others.

However, the importance of drinking water in the morning and on empty stomach when you wake up are discussed below:

1. It helps fuel the brains

The brain is known to be made up of 70% of water. Therefore, constantly hydrating the brain, will help to maintain optimal brain activities, which is carried out by the brain. However, if dehydrated the brain functions or operate less.

2. It helps strengthen the immune system

When the human body is awake in the morning or afternoon as the case may be, the stomach is definitely empty. Therefore, drinking water on an empty stomach bring balance to the body immune system.

This act also help the body from falling sick as often, due to the regulation of the water in the body.


3. It helps prevent kidney stones, protecting the colon and bladder from infections

When you drink water on empty stomach, it increases the body efficiency to fight against infections. It will also help to flush out toxins from the body system. This will help make the internal organs to function effectively.

4. It helps in promoting growth of healthy hair

It has been noted that, the roots of the hair can go dry, rough and brittle if there is insufficient amount of water in the body system, according to research. Therefore, keep the body rehydrated can help hair growth and also the skin.

5. It helps the body rehydrate

After a very long sleep during the night till morning, usually 6 to 10 hours of sleep, which is a very long period to stay without water. Drinking at least 1 to 3 glass or cups of water depending on the size will help the body rehydrate.

This can also be applicable to the hot afternoon weather when the body is working or sleeping as well.


6. It helps in increasing the level of body alertness

Fatigues and tiredness is an indicator of dehydration in the body, and this is due to the fact that, your body is at rest. The water consumption in the morning, will boost alertness, increase your energy level and put the body in a work ready level.

Also, taking some water in the morning can help reduce high blood pressure, just as bathing with cold water.
