
Foods needed and not needed for a healthy heart
The heart can be said to be the power house of the body. Once it has any problem, the rest of the body automatically becomes affected. Hence it is important for you to take note of foods which help boost your heart condition and those that leads to heart deterioration.
The heart is an organ which must be treated with care. This can be achieved by maintaining a healthy diet coupled with constant exercise.
Some foods should be consumed more often as they help boost your heart condition while others should be avoided as much as possible as they can lead to various heart complications.
Foods good for the heart:
1) Fruits and vegetables: They supply the heart with minerals and nutrients. They also contains fibers and antioxidants which help keep the heart going. They include apples, oranges, watermelons, bananas, pineapple etc
2) Foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids: Omega 3 fatty acids are unsaturated fats. They are healthy and good for the heart unlike saturated fats. They are abundant in salmon, walnuts, fishes etc.
3) Whole grains such as brown rice and the rest.
Foods that bad for the heart: They include foods with excess;
1) Sugar: Avoid foods that are sugary example soft drinks, ice cream, etc. Those who consume too much sugar are at a high risk of suffering from heart diseases.
2) Salt: Avoid constant intake of sauces, condiments, and spicy foods
3) Trans fats: These are saturated fats and are found in fried foods. They contain bad cholesterol which leads to cardiovascular diseases.
