Manchester United’s recent slump continued last night in the Champions League as they lost to Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1 over in Turkey.

The Red Devils have had a far from convincing start to proceedings this season, particularly in the Premier League, with them losing at home to Arsenal at the weekend in the top flight.

Indeed, the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is really ramping up at the moment and, according to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are now taking steps towards potentially bringing in Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine boss has been without a job for nearly a year after moving on from Spurs last season but he is considered one of the best coaches in the game after the work he did do at Tottenham, and indeed at Southampton.

The report states the club has contacted his representatives over initial interest, too, with it also thought he’s keen on the role so let’s see if this one develops.
